Megan T. Manahan Bliss, Esq.
Megan graduated from the University of Vermont in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration. She spent a year after her undergraduate studies working for a local publisher as an Editor. She graduated from Suffolk University Law School in Boston,
Massachusetts in May, 2003. She spent the third year of her legal studies as a visiting student at the University of Montana School of Law in Missoula, Montana. While studying in Montana, Megan was a member of the Indian Tribal Law Clinic working with tribes and tribal members providing Pro Bono legal services on various legal matters. She earned the school’s achievement award in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and spent many hours fly fishing on the pristine Montana rivers.
After her graduation from Suffolk in May of 2003, she completed her clerkship, and was
admitted to the Vermont bar in March of 2004. Since her admission to the bar she has been in private practice at Cahill, Gawne, Miller & Manahan, P.C..
During her legal career, Megan has tried cases in all sections of the Vermont state court system, and has argued before the Vermont Supreme Court and the United States Federal
District Court.
Megan’s practice focuses on Family Law, Estate Planning and Administration, Guardianships, all types of Real Estate matters, civil litigation, representation of small businesses in all aspects and mediation services.
Megan is the current Chair of the Vermont Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, and is a certified Credit Union Director. She was appointed and serves as an Alternate Member of the State of Vermont District 6 Environmental Commission. She is a past president of the Franklin-Grand Isle Counties Bar Association, past chair of both the City of St. Albans Development Review Board and the City of St. Albans Recreation Commission. She is a Paul Harris Fellow and a past, two-term President of the St. Albans Rotary Club. Through the Rotary Club she served on the Club’s Taylor Park Fountain Restoration Committee and as Co-Executive Director of the Club’s Home and Recreation Expo. She is a past member and president of the board of directors of Care Partners Adult Day Center and past member of the Vermont Association for Justice Board of Governors.
Megan was born and raised in St. Albans, Vermont and is the daughter of John and Teresa (Howrigan) Manahan. Megan chose to return to hometown of St. Albans to practice law and represents clients in courts in Franklin, Grand Isle, Chittenden and Lamoille Counties. She is married and resides in St. Albans with her husband, Jason.
